Baffles or channels. Baffles are like partial road blocks, kind of a partial quilt pattern

I'm really interested in how this turns out. What are you using as the outer shell,? Regular nylon? Gotta find some very thin and light nylon though

Well, nylon yes, but it has to be nylon rip stop, and down proof.
Commercial down bags are so light and fluffy, so material seems pretty light.
The only concern is water resistance, wet down is terrible. There seems to be a trade-off between breathability and waterproofness . I

I have a silk bag liner. Could help with sweat control. Although it likely ads a little extra weight.

Re: tony's down comforter
so i washed the down but now it's clumped up. I don't know if i can use it like that. I haven't found any down products to cut up since that one trip in august. WE'll see if this project actually gets done

so with the down being clumpy and stuff, and since i'm getting the $100 visa offer, i'm thinking of getting one of the following:

http://www.rei.com/product/830941/sea-to-summit-trek-tkii-sleeping-bag
In TX i dont think its worth it to get a temp rating lower than 20. You can wear layers to sleep if you need to.

well, got another huge womans down ski coat to cut up. The new plan is to combine all that down, wash and weather treat it, then sew two quilts. A skinny one for summer and a two-three season one.
