jackets and layering
This thread will likely go nowhere, but I'm thinking big bend might get cold in december. Last winter trip i made was GUMO park and i used wool and a ski jacket. I have alot of clothing now, so layering makes sense. I have silk upper and lower PJ and thermal upper and lower. I imagine those combos only work for sleeping.
I have several baselayers. Thin poly, polyprolene, nike sphere thermal poly.
I have a nylon and poly insulated vest. I have no idea how warm it is, i think it's a fashion item not a hardcore outdoor vest but it says water resistant and it's nylon and poly which is basic material.
i have two nike fleece like poly that make good insulator material.
The only thing i think i have to buy is a wind jacket. The vest isnt very packable so i'd be hesitant to trail wear it over a half day. hopefully the weather gets cold and i can experiment.

Re: jackets and layering
It will get cold at night but during the day it's really nice, you can be comfortable wearing a tee shirt and shorts. But yeah layering is a good idea sir.
